About Us

Dancedaze was created by Rich Hawke a former footballer with Chesterfield FC. In 2000 Rich started his career in the fitness industry with Fitness First, his passion and enthusiasm for fitness meant that in 2002 he was crowned Presenter of the Year, this gave him the opportunity to present & perform across the UK & Europe. He eventually became Group Exercise Manager at Fitness First, running and overseeing 16 studios and managing 50 instructors. Once he became an established name across Yorkshire, Rich decided to become a freelance fitness instructor and took his contagious energy to many Heath clubs and Fitness Events across the UK.

After a time, Rich decided he wanted to inspire young people to get into dance and fitness and begun working in schools in 2006.

He started to build Dancedaze in 2006, after taking various Afterschool clubs, PE lessons and full and half day workshops, Rich established quite a following and was approached by Sheffield United to form a dance crew to perform at home games in front of crowds of over 20,000.

Rich wanted the dancers talent to be recognised all over the UK, so in 2012 the start of the Dancedaze Dance Crews began.

Suzy Dyson

Choreographer

Freelance dancer and choreographer Suzy Dyson is based in Sheffield and specialises in hip-hop dance styles. Starting dance at the late age of 13, Suzy found ‘street’ dance during extra curriculum hours at school, and grew curious from there.

Beginning her training at Hype Dance, she continued to push herself to new challenges and continued to train in Manchester/London taking regular open classes. Taking classes from professionals in the industry inspired Suzy to spend 3 months training intensively at Millennium Dance Complex and Debbie Reynolds (Los Angeles California) where she met and trained from many of her dance inspirations. Currently, she regularly choreographs for local dance groups, teaches classes and performs in and around Yorkshire and is the founder of INK Dance Company. Her recent performance credits include Rita Ora, The X-factor Final, UK Stand Up 2013, OMG YOLO SO CBA WITH LOLIN theatre tour (Limits Dance Company).

“My goal as a dancer is to perform and inspire. I will always continue to take class to grow and better myself; I believe you can never stop learning”.

I started to teach myself at 14 from watching YouTube videos and researching popping on the Internet. As time went on I kept practicing went to my first comp in 2013 ‘UDO British’ and came out with first. Since then I’ve been working hard and improving myself. I’m honoured to be able to pass on what I’ve learned to the students of Dancedaze so they can keep growing themselves.
